I am trying to learn how to surf; I am able to catch a wave, and ride it on my knees. However when i try standing up on the board I always wipe-out because I am not sure what is the right point to start standing up, also if I manage to stand up the nose dips in the water and I wipe-out.

Does anyone have any tips, or for learning how to surf in general?

sounds too good to be true doesnt one aspect of one sport take away from the ride quality of the other?

I have noticed that many people use a different technique where they appear to go down the slope with their board vertical and they seem to ‘rock’ from edge to edge as opposed to doing complete linked turns.

Instaid of buying an expensive skimboard we tried invest our money in some tools, plywood, paint etc. and we try to make one here an desicription video how we made it. the language we are speaking is dutch if there are many requests for subtitels, there will be a video with english subtitels.
